SPIRITUAL JEDIS

Hello!! 

This week we taught Akheem the Plan of Salvation + he LOVED it! He called us "spiritual jedis" + just kept freaking out over every single part. He kept saying that it all just makes sense! He's an extremely deep thinker + brought up questions we have never even thought about, but it's amazing how the Spirit gave us answers right in the moment we needed them! 

We were able to go to a district council in Linstead + there was a really cool lesson on fear. The Elder teaching said fear can either stand for "Forget Everything And Run" OR "Face Everything And Rise." Fear is one of the greatest tools of the adversary, BUT it's our reaction when we're faced with fear that really matters. We can choose to face the things that bring fear and choose to RISE instead. Our Heavenly Father allows us to have opposition in all things + it's our reaction to the opposition that determines our growth. Choose to "Face Everything And Rise" with our Savior, Jesus Christ right by your side. 

Our sweet Branch President's wife spoke in church yesterday + related "Beauty + the Beast" to the gospel. Both the beast + Belle had gone through trials that brought them to the point they were at. The beast chose to use those trials to make him bitter. Belle chose to use those trials to make her better. It's up to US to choose our reactions to our trials in this life. Use Christ's Atonement to become better in those hard times. 

These experiences were both an answer to many, many prayers this week! Hopefully they can help one of you as well. God is so good. He truly loves His children + answers our prayers according to how WE will understand those answers. Life is good over here in beautiful Jamaica.
