Faith Over Fear

April 1, 2019

Hi hi hi!

YASHEICA CAME TO CHURCH! It's the second time one of the people we're teaching has actually come to church so I was pretty excited. She is an adorable 16 yr old who really wants to get baptized. She is super shy and there are a ton of things she's really nervous about, but she knows she needs to be baptized. We waited at her house for about an hour while she got ready and then we walked to church with her. She absolutely loved it + should be getting baptized on the 13th!!!!!

It rained + rained + rained some more this week so things didn't really go as planned. But it was still a great week! This lady that we do service for every week taught us how to make curry chicken, rice + peas. It was so much fun!

There are these two cute ladies we are teaching in the craft market named Inga and Roxanna. Roxanna basically bore testimony of the Book of Mormon for our whole lesson + it was the best thing ever! After a rough day, we were so happy hearing her say how much she knows the Book of Mormon is the word of God. She kept saying it fits perfectly with the Bible. These Jamaicans seriously know the Bible so that was amazing.

Sister Forrester fed us dinner yesterday + holy heck. I just about exploded. These Jamaican portions are no joke. Hahah but the Elders helped us out + finished our food for us.

I've learned a lot about faith over fear this week..actually throughout my whole mission so far. We have to constantly be choosing faith over fear. As we allow fear into our lives it can paralyze us + stop our progression. Heavenly Father wants us to rely on Him + have faith in Jesus Christ + THEN He is able to make us into something amazing. In the Bible in the story of Peter walking on water, as he is looking at Christ he begins to walk on water. As soon as he looks to the stormy sea and the winds, he begins to sink. We have to be looking straight ahead at Jesus Christ + then we are able to walk with faith. Christ replaces our fear with increased faith.

I really appreciate all the letters, emails, + little packages! I love you all! <3

Big up yuhselves,
Sister Allen :)
