“EXPERIENCES ARE WHAT MAKE US, WHETHER GOOD OR BAD.” - LUMARVENS

June 3, 2019

Hi!

We celebrated Sister Cutright's 9 month mark (halfway) with the most delicious pizza and garlic bread! We love food woo! We did start our diet though + we've cut out sugar except for our cheat day on Thursday! Our friends give us free frozen yogurt + we definitely can't say no to that.

A cute sister missionary, Sister Singleton, who used to serve here came back to visit with her family! They took us out to eat at a really delicious restaurant. It was so fun seeing how much she loved the people here. These truly are really special people. So humble + kind!

This week I've been studying a lot about self mastery/self control. I've realized that one of the biggest things we're trying to learn on this Earth is self mastery! We are trying to control the natural man + instead align our will with God's will. This is HARD. It takes practice every. single. day. We can easily just float through life + be comfortable with the way we're living. But really, we should constantly be working towards becoming more in control of the natural man + more aligned with God's will for us. It's hard to constantly be better, but we need to pay the price now for our eternal, lasting peace + joy! God knows what we're capable of + is so willing to help us become even better.

Also, go look up Lu's published book "500 stanzas of motivation + inspiration". Yeah he's really cool.

The gospel is THE biggest blessing! Read the Book of Mormon, it changes lives!

Lots of Love,
Sister Allen <3
